2016 Pinot Noir Rosé

2016 Pinot Noir Rosé
2016 Pinot Noir Rosé

Our dry rosé comes largely from fruit grown just down the road at Salerno Vineyard outside of Monroe, Oregon with about 10% from our own estate vineyard. The Salerno Vineyard is a lower elevation planting of Pinot Noir and the vines produce wines with expressive fruit driven flavors of strawberry, red raspberries and melon, while our estate fruit is Wadenswil clone Pinot Noir and late to ripen, offering acidity and complexity. Minimal skin contact of under 2 hours before pressing and the bright acidity keep this dry style of rosé light and refreshing and is the perfect compliment to light summer fare or it can be enjoyed by itself.

Pairings: A common misconception is that rosé is a summer wine and while it is amazing in the warmer months, it also pairs well with food year round. We particularly like rosé around the holidays with roasted turkey... for the more adventurous, a deep fried turkey is even better! A recent discovery was pairing our dry rosé with a ripe melon salad with chili pepper and cotija cheese. While old family favorites include a cantelope and proccuitto salad or BBQ shrimp skewers.
